Hey !! I'm happy you got to go to the liatening party and meet John :) ... I'm curious about your tattoo now though, what is it ? :)

I always meant to post all of my tattoos, maybe this will prompt me doing so sometime soon. The particular one he asked about looks very intricate though, i usually get asked…one of the reasons i got it actually. It’s a monogram of the all the letter of the alphabet and every number 0-9. It’s super fun to watch people try to find all the letters….anyway, I’ll post them soon!

Forever jealous that you met John! Read your story! Haha what luck you had! I was suppose to see him in concert May 2nd this year, but for obvious reasons I didn't. Ahh, I am waiting for the day I meet him..hoping I can keep my composure. Anyways..YOUR SO LUCKY!

Thank you! I feel like the luckiest guy around. It kills me that it will be soooo long until the next concert but it will be all the more special when it happens! Hope you get to meet him someday, he’s such a nice guy and very grateful for his fans.

Me and John Mayer at the Born & Raised listening party, last night in Chicago.

By a stroke of luck, my friend had heard about this on the radio so we went down to the hotel where we thought John was (hopefully) staying. I was able to spot Michael McDonald, John’s manager, outside. We asked for a minute of John’s time and said we wish that we were attending the listening party later. He immediately pulled out his Iphone and asked for a name. We couldn’t believe it. At the drop of a hat he just put us on the list. After a day of building excitement, we were there. We talked to Michael McDonald for almost 5 minutes when we got there. He is one of the nicest men i have ever met. He said he was glad we made it and even asked about my tattoo! We couldn’t thank him enough!

Then the album comes on. It was such a surreal experience to be in this beautiful place, knowing that John is in the next room while we listen to his music. Sadly, it seemed like we were some of the only few attentively listening and visibly moving with the music but hey, we were just happy to be there!

Once it was over John came out and dropped a few jokes. “What you didn’t know is that I’m actually fine, i performed the entire album from the next room…I’m just shy now.”

I could tell he seemed kind of bummed by the fact that he couldn’t actually perform the songs. I feel that jokes like that are kind of how he deals with it.

I went up to John a few minutes later and introduced myself, took a picture. I told him how much i appreciate his music and to simply shake his hand meant the world to me. He just said “wow, thank you man, thank you.” I felt like a bit of a crazy fan and totally forgot to ask some questions i had in mind but I can’t complain, i finally met him. I am forever grateful for this.

It still hasn’t sunk in, it’s a lot to process but i hope you guys enjoyed this little story :)

I listened to the record last Wednesday on my flight to Los Angeles. Gave it one more go round before it went out into the world… one last little listen as being just mine. It’s brought me so much joy and company and peace, and I hope it will do the same for you.
